25 Claude GitHub repos worth actually using
Skills, memory, design, coding, marketing, video and automation. Verified October 2026.
Hey, it's Adam. I get asked constantly which GitHub repos actually make Claude better — not the ones with 10k stars because someone posted them to Reddit, but the ones that do something useful when you drop them into Claude Code.
I've tested all 25 of these. Five categories: core setup, building things, content and business, video and creative, and research and automation. The format is simple — what it is, what it actually does, and who it's best for.
Core setup 🧱
The foundation. Official skills, structured workflows, persistent memory, and up-to-date docs. If you only set up one category, make it this one.
github.com/anthropics/skills
Anthropic's official public repo for Agent Skills. Gives Claude reusable instructions and workflows for documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, presentations, dev, design, communication, and more. This is the canonical starting point — Anthropic builds and maintains it.
Anyone who wants to extend what Claude can do using official Anthropic-built skills. Start here before anything else.
github.com/obra/superpowers
A structured software-development workflow and skills framework that stops Claude from immediately changing code. It forces a deliberate sequence: understand the problem, plan the work, implement it, test it, review the result. Claude's default behaviour is to start writing the moment you give it a task. Superpowers slows that down.
Vibe coding, larger projects, and anyone frustrated by Claude making random changes without thinking through the full picture first.
github.com/thedotmack/claude-mem
A persistent memory and context system for AI coding agents. Captures what happens during sessions, compresses the useful information, and brings relevant context back the next time you open a chat. Solves the problem of having to re-explain your project from scratch every session.
Note: Understand exactly what information it stores before using it with anything sensitive or client-related.
Long-running projects where you constantly have to remind Claude what was already discussed, built, or changed.
github.com/upstash/context7
A documentation and context repo that gives Claude access to current library and API docs instead of what the model learned during training. Claude's training data has a cutoff — this fills the gap for fast-moving tools.
Coding with frequently changing tools like Next.js, React, Supabase, and other modern frameworks where the docs have moved since Claude was trained.
github.com/NeoLabHQ/context-engineering-kit
Workflows and skills focused on context engineering: planning, compression, verification, agent orchestration, and managing longer coding sessions. Useful when a project has grown too large for a single clean conversation.
Claude power users working on complex projects that quickly exceed one simple chat context.
github.com/anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins
Anthropic's open-source repo of knowledge-work plugins. Role-based workflows for marketing, sales, productivity, data, finance, customer support, product management, and enterprise work. The coding repos get most of the attention — this one is for the people using Claude for actual business tasks.
Using Claude for real work workflows rather than just chatting or writing code.
github.com/alirezarezvani/claude-code-skill-factory
A toolkit for turning your own repeatable workflows into Claude Code skills, slash commands, and reusable AI workflows. Instead of rewriting the same instructions every session, you build them once and call them by name.
Power users, developers, and teams who want a custom Claude setup rather than a generic one.
Building websites, UI and apps 🏗️
Make what Claude builds look better, behave better, and actually get tested before you ship it.
github.com/nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill
A design-intelligence repo that adds guidance for interface styles, colour palettes, typography, UX patterns, charts, and multiple frontend frameworks. Without something like this, Claude defaults to the same bland layout on every project.
People who can get Claude to build a website but struggle to make the result look professionally designed.
github.com/pbakaus/impeccable
A design system made to improve the visual output of AI coding tools. Pushes Claude toward more deliberate visual decisions and away from the generic AI-looking interfaces that all start to look the same.
Making Claude-built websites, dashboards, and apps look like they were designed by a person.
github.com/vercel-labs/agent-skills
Vercel's official collection of skills for AI coding agents. Adds guidance around React, Next.js, web performance, UI quality, accessibility, writing, and optimization. Well-maintained because Vercel has an obvious interest in Claude building great Next.js apps.
Anyone building modern web apps or websites with Claude, especially on the Vercel stack.
github.com/lackeyjb/playwright-skill
A browser-automation skill that lets Claude use Playwright to open websites, click elements, fill forms, take screenshots, and verify whether what it built actually works. Claude can build things that look fine but break on interaction — this catches that.
Testing websites and apps without manually clicking through everything yourself after every build.
github.com/nizos/tdd-guard
A test-driven-development enforcement tool for Claude Code that stops Claude from repeatedly adding functionality without writing or passing proper tests. Left to its own devices, Claude will skip tests to ship faster.
Larger coding projects where reliability matters more than generating code as quickly as possible.
github.com/trailofbits/skills
Security skills for Claude Code from Trail of Bits, a professional security firm. Adds workflows for vulnerability detection, code auditing, and safer development. Gives Claude the vocabulary and process that security engineers use.
Developers who want Claude to actively review code for security problems, not just write new features.
Content, marketing and business 📣
Writing, SEO, growth, and sales workflows for creators, founders, and teams using Claude for actual business output.
github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills
A large marketing-skills repository covering copywriting, SEO, content marketing, conversion optimisation, analytics, email, growth, and other marketing workflows. One of the more comprehensive non-coding skill sets available.
Creators, founders, marketers, agencies, and online businesses using Claude for marketing work.
github.com/hardikpandya/stop-slop
A writing skill for removing AI tells from Claude's output. Targets repetitive structure, artificial phrases like "delve into" and "let's explore", unnecessary introductions, filler, and other patterns that make writing feel obviously machine-generated.
Emails, scripts, articles, captions, newsletters, and marketing copy — anything where sounding human matters.
github.com/AgriciDaniel/claude-seo
A comprehensive Claude Code SEO system with skills and sub-agents covering technical SEO, on-page SEO, E-E-A-T, schema, GEO/AEO, backlinks, local SEO, international SEO, Google APIs, and reporting.
Website owners, bloggers, marketers, and agencies who want Claude doing SEO work rather than just writing about it.
github.com/zubair-trabzada/ai-sales-team-claude
An AI-powered sales workflow for Claude Code covering prospect research, lead qualification, decision-maker mapping, outreach sequences, meeting prep, proposals, and pipeline reporting.
Founders, agencies, and sales teams using Claude for outbound work.
Video and creative 🎬
Programmatic video, agent-first video frameworks, and polished presentations — all built with code rather than drag-and-drop editors.
github.com/remotion-dev/skills
Remotion's official Agent Skills repository. Teaches Claude how to create programmatic video with Remotion — animation, captions, audio, transitions, charts, and other video workflows. Remotion maintains this directly, so it stays current.
Programmatic video, automated content creation, and creators building video tools with Claude Code.
github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes
HeyGen's agent-first video framework. Lets Claude create video compositions using HTML and render them into finished videos. More accessible than Remotion if you don't need full React-based video control.
Motion graphics, product videos, creator content, marketing videos, and automated video production workflows.
github.com/zarazhangrui/frontend-slides
A repo for building presentation slides using an AI coding agent's frontend skills. Claude builds polished, web-based presentations instead of static PowerPoint decks. Pairs well with Claude Slides if you want code-level control.
Animated, interactive, and visually polished presentations that go beyond what slide software allows.
Research, data and automation 🔬
MCP servers, web research, automation pipelines, and tools for working with large codebases and data sets.
github.com/github/github-mcp-server
GitHub's official MCP Server. Lets Claude work directly with GitHub repositories, code, issues, pull requests, commits, and common development workflows. Maintained by GitHub, which means it stays in sync with the API.
Claude Code users, developers working with GitHub-hosted repos, code review, and repository management.
github.com/mendableai/firecrawl-mcp-server
A web crawling and scraping MCP server that gives Claude the ability to extract clean text from any URL, crawl entire sites, and use the results as research context. Essential when you want Claude to work with live web content rather than its training data.
Research workflows, competitor analysis, content aggregation, and any task where Claude needs current information from the web.
github.com/browser-use/browser-use
A browser automation framework that lets Claude navigate websites, click elements, fill forms, and extract information just as a person would. Works alongside Claude computer use for tasks that need real-browser interaction.
Web automation, data collection from dynamic websites, and workflows that require actual browser navigation.
github.com/exa-labs/exa-mcp-server
An MCP server for Exa, a semantic neural search engine built for AI agents. Searches the web by meaning rather than keywords, which produces cleaner results than standard search when Claude is doing research or fact-checking.
Deep research, finding specific sources on a topic, and workflows where keyword search returns noisy or irrelevant results.
github.com/OpenInterpreter/open-interpreter
Lets Claude run code locally on your machine — Python, JavaScript, shell commands, and more. Bridges the gap between Claude generating code and Claude actually executing it against your real files, data, and system.
Data analysis, file automation, local system tasks, and anyone who wants Claude to do work on their machine rather than just suggest it.
How to actually add these to Claude Code 🛠️
Most of these repos work as Claude Code skills, CLAUDE.md additions, or MCP servers. Here's the fastest way to get each type working.
- Skills repos (most of this list): copy the relevant
.mdfiles into your project or point Claude to the repo URL in your CLAUDE.md. Anthropic Agent Skills and Knowledge Work Plugins have install instructions in their READMEs. - MCP servers (GitHub MCP, Firecrawl, Exa): add the server config to your Claude Desktop or Claude Code MCP settings file. Each repo has the exact JSON block you need to copy.
- CLAUDE.md-based repos (Superpowers, Context Engineering Kit): copy the CLAUDE.md from the repo into your project root, then edit it to match your project. Claude reads this file at the start of every session.
- Memory systems (Claude-Mem): follow the README setup — these usually run as a background process or hook that Claude interacts with during sessions.
- Testing tools (Playwright Skill, TDD Guard): add as Claude Code skills alongside your existing project context. They work best when added before you start building, not after.
Don't add everything at once. More context isn't always better — too many instructions can confuse Claude or slow responses. Start with one or two repos that directly match your current project, see if they help, then add more.
